Hello my dear friends,
Just wanted to let you know that Sarah’s celebration of life will be on Sunday 24th of October from 1o’clock. RSVP to the home phone or Helen's number below but no pressure at all either way.
We have been calling this event ‘Sarah’s celebration’. We intend to celebrate her life with friends and family. We felt it was particularly important to do this as we were lost the chance to do after her funeral as a result of the harsh restrictions in place.
What to expect:
We want this to be informal and small scale as we are having it at home (address at the bottom). As a way of remembering and sharing memories of Sarah with each other.
We will make sure there is lots of tea and coffee, and other drinks including Prosecco for non-drivers. If you want and have capacity to do so, bringing along sweet or savoury food or cake to share that would be very welcome indeed.
As many of you know from Sarah’s funeral, we strongly associate the colour yellow with Sarah. She was always found in bright (usually vintage!) colours, an array of eyeshadow shades and red lipstick. We will all be wearing clothes that we feel we’re in keeping with our memory of Sarah. We would invite you to do likewise in whatever way you feel most comfortable with. If in doubt, Emma and Helen’s rule of thumb is, if it would have made Sarah jealous that you owned a particular item rather than her, then it’s perfect.
On the day, you are welcome to stay for as long or as short as you feel comfortable with. We will be putting up a gazebo in the back garden in case of inclement weather, and will have a few opportunities for you to leave written memories of Sarah should you wish to. Similarly, if you want to bring a photo you would be very welcome to do so.
We are looking forward to meeting you all and appreciate all the support you have given and continue to give us.
